There's a little black spot on the sun today...
(Taken with my D800 with the Nikkor 28-300 lens and 3 filters - UV, ND8, and Polarizing - at L1.0 ISO, 1/8000, and f36.)
(For reference, I was facing west, so north is at the right of the picture.)

Hi there, Austin
I'm glad you caught it - none of us is likely to get the chance again.
I managed to see the transit myself, at roughly the same time, from urban Toronto. I had brought my solar observing glasses for the solar eclipse on 20 May - I hadn't expected to have a second opportunity to use them so soon :-)
Take care

Speak for yourself, mister. I plan on living forever :D
Hi there, Austin
Which of us wouldn't like to live forever? Three-score years and ten, or even eleventy-one, is far too short a time to live in such a fascinating universe. You're more likely to make it than I am - you have about ten years more than me for the technology to develop to the point where it's feasible. If it's going to happen, I suspect it will be some combination of nanotech and genetics - as appealing to SF writers as uploading people into computers is, I think neuroscience is still too far away from computing science.
Take care
Mark
